Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as not very common in Bhutan, locally common in India, China and Myanmar and fairly common in the Himalayan foothills (del Hoyo et al. 2007).
Trend justification: The population is suspected to be in decline owing to ongoing habitat destruction and fragmentation.
