Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as locally uncommon in the north of its range to fairly common in the south (Harris and Franklin 2000). This population is estimated to be increasing following evidence of a range expansion in the south of its distribution from the 1970s to the 1990s at least (Harris and Franklin 2000).
