Taxonomic note
Geoffroyus heteroclitus and G. hyacinthinus (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) were previously lumped as G. heteroclitus following Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as very uncommon on New Britian and New Georgia, locally common on Santa Isabel and Guadelcanal and uncommon to moderately abundant on Bougainville (del Hoyo et al. 1997).
Trend justification: The population is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats.
