Population justification:

The population is now estimated to number between 350-506 mature individuals across both viable populations (280-436 on La Digue and 70 on Denis Island), with the population believed to be increasing on both islands (Bristol et al. 2018, Bristol and Gamatis 2017). Translocations to a third island, Curieuse, began in December 2018. 

Trend justification:

The overall population is steadily increasing. Territories on the main La Digue western plateau continue to decline due to habitat loss from development, but this decline is slowing, and is offset by the increase in territories off plateau on La Digue. Additionally, the established population on Denis island is now viable, and is increasing also (Bristol, 2016; Gamatis and Bristol, 2018).
