Population justification: The global population is estimated to number 200,000 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2020).
Trend justification: The population trend is difficult to determine. Long-term trends from 1970 to 2017 suggest that the population is overall stable (Pardieck et al. 2018). Short-term trends report a population increase over the past ten years, but are subject to a large uncertainty (Pardieck et al. 2018). Precautionarily, the species is here assessed as stable.
