Taxonomic note

Moupinia poecilotis (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) was previously listed as Chrysomma poecilotis. Moved from Sylviidae to the family Paradoxornithidae following Cai et al. (2019).
Birds from NW Yunnan sometimes recognized as subspecies sordidior. Monotypic.
