This species has been recently rediscovered in both Venezuela and Colombia, following 40 years without any records. Its range and population are poorly known, but may be small. The species is therefore classified as Endangered.



Population size: 150-700 mature individuals

Population trend: decreasing

Extent of occurrence (breeding/resident): 128,000 km2
