Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is described as locally common (Stotz et al. 1996, Clark 2020).
Trend justification: The species' tolerance of anthropogenic and disturbed habitats suggests it is not currently at risk. Therefore, in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats, the population is suspected to be stable. In Chile it has been expanding its range since the 1970s (Clark 2020).
