Taxonomic note

Myzomela obscura, M. simplex, M. rubrotincta and M. rubrobrunnea (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as M. obscura following Christidis and Boles (2008) and Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).
