Population justification: The global population is suspected to number 50,000-499,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2022).
Trend justification:
The population trend has not been investigated. Tree cover within the range is has been lost at a rate of 10% over the past ten years; since 2016 this has been increasing to a rate equivalent to 13% over ten years (Global Forest Watch 2021, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). The species is strictly dependent on forest interior (del Hoyo et al. 2020); consequently, the current rate of tree cover loss may disproportionately affect the population. Tentatively, population declines are here placed in the band 10-19% over ten years.
