Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is reported to be common to locally frequent (del Hoyo et al. 2002). The population is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats. This species' population in Laos is considered to be of high importance globally, with trends in this country (low to negligible) similar to those found in the species' previous global assessment (Timmins et al. 2024). This species is considered to have a high dependency on forest habitat, which is estimated to be declining at a slow rate (Global Forest Watch 2024).
Trend justification: The population is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats.
