Narrow-tailed Emerald Chlorostilbon stenurus

Taxonomy

Taxonomic note
Very similar to and apparently sympatric with C. alice. Subspecies ignotus sometimes considered synonymous with alice, or treated as a hybrid. Birds of Colombia have been separated as subspecies acuticaudus, but regarded as doubtfully valid. Two subspecies recognized.

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified. Density descriptions range from uncommon in Colombia (Hilty 2021) to fairly common or common (Stotz et al. 1996, Bündgen and Boesman 2020).

Trend justification: The population is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats.
