Trend justification:

This species has undergone a decrease over the last 50 years in North America (23% decline between 1966 and 2015 based on the North American Breeding Bird Survey [Sauer et al. 2017], or 21% decline between 1970 and 2014 based on Partners in Flight [A. Panjabi in litt. 2017]). Recent trends, however, suggest a moderate, non-significant increase of 10.8% over the last three generations (Sauer et al. 2017).
