Taxonomic note
Claravis, as previously defined, was shown to be paraphyletic, with two of the three species grouping separately to C. pretiosi. These two need generic reallocation, moving to the new genus Paraclaravis (Sangster et al. 2018): hence P. geoffroyi and P. mondetoura.

Population justification: The global population is estimated to number 50,000-499,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2019).
Trend justification: The population is undergoing a moderate decline (Partners in Flight 2019), which is thought to be caused by deforestation within the range (del Hoyo et al. 1997, Tracewski et al. 2016).
