Population justification: Partners in Flight estimate the global population to number fewer than 50,000 mature individuals (A. Panjabi in litt. 2008, 2017); thus it is here placed in the band 20,000-49,999 mature individuals.

Trend justification:

The species is undergoing a large, significant decline (Partners in Flight 2019). A remote sensing analysis found that forest within the species's range was lost at a rate of 6% over three generations (Tracewski et al. 2016); therefore the species is thought to be declining by <10% over three generations.
