Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as extremely common across almost all of its range. The population in Liberia has been estimated as 4,000,000 individuals, although this represents only a small proportion of the global population. (del Hoyo et al. 2005).

Trend justification: The population is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats.
