Mirafra javanica (Christidis and Boles [2008]; Sibley and Monroe [1990, 1993]) and M. cantillans (Dowsett and Forbes-Watson [1993]; Sibley and Monroe [1990, 1993]) have been lumped into M. javanica following del Hoyo and Collar (2016).
