Taxonomic note
Psephotellus dissimilis (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was previously placed in the genus Psephotus. Forms a species-group with P. chrysopterygius and †P. pulcherrimus; close to former, and in the past considered conspecific. Monotypic.
