Taxonomic note
Zapornia sandwichensis (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was previously placed in the genus Porzana.
Porzana millsi (often incorrectly spelled "millei") is a synonym, used for the darker, probably immature, form of the species (Taylor 1998).
