Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is described as extremely local and uncommon within its small range (del Hoyo et al. 2005). Based on its apparent rarity, and its small range, the population is suspected to be small, preliminarily placed here in the band of 10,000-19,999 mature individuals. Further research or better data are required to confirm this.

Trend justification: This species's population is inferred to be in decline owing to habitat destruction (del Hoyo et al. 2005; Global Forest Watch 2020).
