Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species has been described as common (del Hoyo et al. 1999, Palacios 2022).
Trend justification: There are no data on the population trend. Habitat loss within the range is negligible, with tree cover loss amounting to 1% over the past ten years (Global Forest Watch 2023, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). The species moreover occurs in a variety of forested, open and converted habitats (Palacios 2022). Consequently, in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats, the population is suspected to be stable.
