Taxonomic note
Glaucidium gnoma, G. californicum, G. cobanense and G. hoskinsii (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) were previously lumped as G. gnoma following AOU (1998). Prior to that G. gnoma and G. californicum had been split following Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).
