Population justification: The population size is unknown, but the species is described as uncommon and local (Allen 2020). Given the area of habitat remaining within the range however, the global population size is unlikely to be especially small.
Trend justification: Remote sensing data (Global Forest Watch 2024, using data from Hansen et al. [2013] and methods disclosed therein) indicate that forest loss is slow within the range (ongoing at a rate equivalent to 1-2% within ten years). Additionally, this species is found in secondary forest, including selectively logged and degraded areas (Dickinson et al. 1991, Dutson 1993, Poulsen 1995, Allen 2020). As such, in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats, the population trend is suspected to be stable.
