Population justification: The global population has not been quantified given recent taxonomic splits, however the size of the range and frequency of reports indicates that the population size is unlikely to be small.

Trend justification: The population is undergoing a moderate decline (Partners in Flight 2019). Remote sensing data suggests that during the years 2009-2020, this species's lost 8.6% of forest cover throughout its range (Global Forest Watch 2021). Assuming that population declines are proportional to forest loss, the species is suspected to have declined at a rate of 1-15% over the past three generations. During the years 2017-2020, 2.8% of forest cover was lost from its range (Global Forest Watch 2021). Projected forward over three generations, the species may be declining at <10% over three generations.
