Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is reported to be generally locally common to abundant (del Hoyo et al. 1994, Fuller et al. 2000). This species is widespread and abundant. However it is declining locally owing to habitat degradation caused by agricultural conversion and over-hunting (del Hoyo et al. 1994).
