Population justification: The global population is suspected to number 50,000-499,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2019).
Trend justification: The population is thought to be stable (Partners in Flight 2020). The species adapts well to habitat degradation; it occurs in secondary growth but is mostly absent from forest (Kroodsma and Brewer 2020), therefore it is not believed to be negatively affected by forest loss.
