Taxonomic note
Artemisiospiza belli and A. nevadensis (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously placed in the genus Amphispiza and lumped as A. belli following AOU (1998 and supplements); Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993); Stotz et al. (1996).

Trend justification: The species has stable population trends (Partners in Flight 2019). The population in North America however has declined by 10% over the past ten years, though this value is non-significant (Pardieck et al. 2018).
