Population justification: The global population is suspected to number 50,000-499,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2022).

Trend justification: The population trend has not been investigated. Tree cover within the range is lost at a rate of 4% over three generations (Global Forest Watch 2021, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). Apart from forests, the species is also found in edge and secondary habitat (Soberanes-González et al. 2020); consequently, the current rate of tree cover loss may not be affecting the population. There is no evidence that the species is subject to trapping pressure (Soberanes-González et al. 2020). Therefore, in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats, the population is suspected to be stable.
