Population justification: The population size is preliminarily suspected to fall into the band 10,000-19,999 individuals. This equates to 6,667-13,333 mature individuals, rounded here to 6,000-15,000 mature individuals.
Trend justification: The species's population is estimated to be declining in line with the clearance and degradation of forest within its range. Between 2003-2016, the numbers per point count decreased from 0.45 to 0.28 individuals (J. Riegert 2020, unpublished data) a decline of 37%. This equates to a decline of 31% over three generations, hence the overall rate of decline is placed in the 30-49% band. Based on ongoing deforestation, the population is suspected to continue at this rate into the future.
