Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as locally fairly common to common (del Hoyo et al. 2007, Pratt and Beehler 2015, Beehler and Pratt 2016).
Trend justification: There are no data on population trends. Forest cover loss in this species' mapped range has been slow, equivalent to c.2% over the past ten years (Global Forest Watch 2022, based on data from Hansen et al. [2013] and methods disclosed therein). Precautionarily, this is suspected to be causing a slow decline.
