LC
Banded Warbler Curruca boehmi

Taxonomy

Taxonomic note
Previously placed in Sylvia but moved to current genus following Cai et al. (2019). Formerly also placed in genus Parisoma within family Timaliidae, but morphology, behaviour, vocalizations and mtDNA indicate better included in present genus. Identification of subspecies insufficiently understood, possibly only two merit recognition; further studies required in order to clarify true differences. Birds in S Ethiopia included in subspecies somalica, but may belong with marsabit. Three subspecies currently recognized.
