Site summary
The dominant forest types in this hilly area are fir-beech and beech. Most of the mountain meadows occurring on the ridges are not in agricultural use. Prevailing habitats are deciduous forests, mixed forests, mosaic agricultural land with meadows and pastures. Forestry is the most important activity in the region. The whole area is used for hunting, and small-scale tourism. There are a lot of nesting forest bird species, in particular owls, birds of prey, and hole nesting birds. The main threats are intensive forestry and deforestation. The site is not proposed as an SPA.
