Site description (2019 baseline)
The IBA comprises of the Zlatibor mountain massif, which as a part of the Eastern Dinaric Alps mountain range. Vast open pastures stretch throughout the central part of the area, intersected by many streams and small valleys with wet meadows, while forest of black pine and mixed forests with scots pine dominate the rest of the IBA, especially on higher mountains like Tornik (1.496 m), Murtenica (1.480 m). Zlatibor is situated within the municipalities of Užice and Čajetina in the south-western part of Serbia. It is one of the most popular mountain resorts in the country and is visited by large number of tourist throughout the year.
