Site description (2009 baseline)
Located on the east coast of the Liaodong Peninsula between the Biliu He and Dayang He estuaries, with a few smaller river estuaries and salt water lakes or lagoons. The IBA has a complex coastline with wide tidal flats, many bays, reedbeds and salt marshes. It is an important stop-over for migratory waterbirds, but there is high pressure to convert the wetlands for aquaculture.
