Site location and context
The IBA represents a 33 km long water course of the river Zasavica, with 6 large meanders, until its inflow into the Sava river. The entire area used to be a part of the water course of the Drina river, with whom it is not in contact any more, and is formed from underground streams. The area is a mosaic of numerous aquatic habitats, pastures and patches of oak, poplar, ash and other tree species. The IBA is located within municipality borders of Sremska MItrovica and Bogatić.
