Yindian Shan and Xiling Shan ranges


Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Yindian Shan and Xiling Shan are both on the southern ridges of Dupangling in the Nanling mountains, and both mountains have a north-south orientation. The IBA has a monsoon climate, and forest cover is 75%.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Important plants include Fokienia hodginsii and Liriodendron chinense. Animals include Manis pentadactyla, Macaca mulatta, Cervus unicolor, Capricornis sumatraensis, Viverricula indica and Moschus berezovskii.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Protected in Xiling Shan county-level nature reserve (19,327 ha) and Yindian Shan county-level nature reserve (48,000 ha), which was established in 1982.
