Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in western Taonan City, adjacent to the boundary with Inner Mongolia. Yematu lies at the southern tip of the south-east ridge of the Da Hinggan Ling mountains, and has low mountains, hilly areas and dry grasslands. Many passerines pass through the area on migration.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Mammals include Vulpes vulpes and Canis lupus.
