Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A small reservoir situated north-west of Amasya, fed by the Tersakan stream and used to irrigate 7,966 ha in the adjacent Suluova plain. There is virtually no shoreline vegetation. DSÝ operates a small fish-farm next to the dam and releases fish into the lake.
This is an important site for wintering and passage waterbirds.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No serious threats are known at the site.
