Site description (2000 baseline)
A shallow, spring-fed saline lake separated from Burdur lake (site 030) by a range of hills. The water-level fluctuates greatly and in summer the lake almost entirely dries up, leaving extensive saltmarshes and mudflats. To the north and west the lake is bordered by farmland, otherwise the shores are rocky and steep in places. Small vegetated areas occur around freshwater inputs.

Key biodiversity
This site is important for wintering wildfowl.
