Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context

Located between Yu Xian and Zhuolu counties, western Hebei Province. The IBA is hilly and most slopes are between 35 and 70 degrees slope, with streams running down the major valleys.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Panthera pardus, Vulpes vulpes and Mustela sibirica.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve (22,107 ha) in 1983, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2002.
