Site location and context
A 25-km long section of the embanked River Weser. The valley is dominated by meadows, gravel-pits and arable land.
The area is also nationally important as an inland wintering site for
Bucephala clangula.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Disturbance to birds from work on the river course, hunting, and military training are the most important threats to the IBA. There are plans to open up the Weser meadow for recreational use.

International HighIBA overlaps with Ramsar Site and Special Protection Area.
