Wendesser moor


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A small bog and wetland area in the midst of large fields. The wetland includes patches of open water, reedbeds (Phragmites), Salix thickets, and a small Pinus forest.



Key biodiversity
Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (resident).



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Research is being carried out on the biology of rails (Rallidae). There is long-term monitoring of bird migration.



Protected areas
National Partial International None63 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Wendesser Moor, 63 ha).
