Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An area of rivers, riverine forest, deciduous woodland, heathland, marsh, reedbed (
Phragmites) and arable land.
The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis (including
Anas platyrhynchos 12,000;
Aythya ferina 3,000;
Aythya fuligula 3,500;
Fulica atra 3,000;
Larus ridibundus 10,000). Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (1-10 passage individuals).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Reported threats are high human pressure on the river (boating and fishing) and on the edges of the site, as well as agriculture, recreation and industry.

International None120 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Petite Camargue Alsacienne, 120 ha). 2,000 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (2,000 ha).
