Site description (2000 baseline)
Gorges with sclerophyllous scrub and woodland, conifer woodland, dry grasslands, cliffs and mountain lakes.

Key biodiversity
An important site for the endemic Sitta whiteheadi and endemic subspecies such as Accipiter gentilis arrigonii, Buteo buteo arrigonii, Troglodytes troglodytes koenigi and Muscicapa striata tyrrhenica.
