Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
The site includes a river, marshes, aquatic vegetation, wet meadows, riverine forest,
Populus plantations, bocages and arable fields.
This is an important site for breeding waterbirds,
Crex crex and terns, and as a wintering site for waterbirds, in particular
Vanellus vanellus (14,000 individuals).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Recreation (boating), conversion of wet meadows into arable fields and afforestation with
Populus threaten the site.
