Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
The site includes a river, marshes, aquatic vegetation, wet meadows, riverine forest, Populus plantations, bocages and arable fields.



Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding waterbirds, Crex crex and terns, and as a wintering site for waterbirds, in particular Vanellus vanellus (14,000 individuals).



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Recreation (boating), conversion of wet meadows into arable fields and afforestation with Populus threaten the site.



Protected areas
National Low International None175 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (175 ha).
