Site description (2000 baseline):

Rivers, ponds, wet grasslands, riverine forest, Populus groves, marshes, arable land and bocage. Agriculture and forestry are the two main activities at the site.

Crex crex breeds in wet meadows in the valley.

The valley is threatened by afforestation with Populus.
