The River Allier with alluvial sand beaches and islets, marshes, ponds, riverine forest and arable fields.
Key biodiversity
The site is important for wintering waterfowl. Sterna hirundo and S. albifrons breed on natural gravel islets. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria; Aythya nyroca (passage, wintering); Haliaeetus albicilla (passage, wintering); Tetrax tetrax (passage).
