Site description (2004 baseline):
Site location and context
The least degraded part of Uzava river flood-plain comprising significant areas of natural meadows. The site is surrounded by forests, and borders a flood-plain considerably affected by canalisation and arable farming further downstream. Listed as an IBA since 2000 [2, 1]. Fully protected: there is a 100% overlap with the newly designated Uzavas augstece restricted nature reserve, a candidate SPA.
