Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A small freshwater lake (max. depth 1.5 m) situated south of çöl lake (IBA 040), fringed by reedbeds (
Phragmites) and fed by groundwater. It is surrounded by arable land, which reaches the shoreline in places. Local people harvest reed (`Other' land-use).
The area is important for breeding waterbirds.
Falco naumanni breeds just outside the IBA.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No serious threats are known at the site.
