Site description (2019 baseline)
IBA Uvac is situated in south-western Serbia, within the municipalities of Nova Varoš and Sjenica. It comprises of the impressive limestone gorge of the Uvac river with its many contributories (Kladnica, Veljušnica, Vapa, Tisovica river). The water course of the Uvac river is dammed in several places, creating three artificial accumulations (Radoinjska - 11km, Zlatarska - 27km, Sjenička - 25km) which dominate the landscape.
